POSITION OVERVIEW
The Purchasing Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials and goods to support purchasing and operational requirements. This role works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to track orders, monitor delivery schedules, and proactively address potential supply chain risks. This is a highly detail-oriented, fast-paced position supporting critical operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor purchase orders from placement through delivery to ensure alignment with committed dates
Follow up with suppliers on order acknowledgments, lead times, and shipment status
Maintain accurate records of purchasing activity, including updates and supplier communications
Identify potential delays or risks and communicate issues proactively to stakeholders
Support mitigation efforts, including coordinating expedited shipments when needed
Notify internal teams when delivery timelines will not be met
Assist with invoice follow-ups and help resolve delays or discrepancies
Prepare reports on vendor performance, delivery status, and material logistics
Ensure ERP/MRP systems are updated with accurate and current information
Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, finance, production, and logistics teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
1–3 years of experience in purchasing, expediting, logistics, supply chain, or related field
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage high-volume transactional work accurately and efficiently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with ERP and/or MRP systems
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
U.S. citizenship required due to export control regulations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain environment
Familiarity with supplier management and order tracking
Experience supporting invoicing or resolving PO discrepancies
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.25/hr.
