Job Title: Purchasing Clerk

Job Description

The Purchasing Clerk works as part of a seven-person team in a fast-paced environment, answering calls and collecting all necessary information to issue purchase orders for field technicians, service managers, account managers, and project managers across all offices. This role focuses on accurate and timely data entry of purchasing-related information, supporting internal stakeholders and vendors while ensuring smooth purchasing and administrative operations.

Responsibilities

Accurately enter a high volume of alphanumeric data into Edge, a web-based program, while maintaining strict attention to detail.Create and process purchase orders, subcontracts, change order requests, and related documentation in a timely and accurate manner.Collect and verify all necessary information for new vendor and subcontractor setup, ensuring completeness and compliance with internal requirements.Perform invoice research, including investigating discrepancies, following up with relevant parties, and entering invoice data into the system.Respond promptly and professionally to questions from vendors and coworkers at all levels, including management, providing clear and accurate information.Call vendors to collect invoices and resolve outstanding documentation or billing issues.Assist management and purchasing agents with additional duties and special projects as needed to support department goals.Assume other job responsibilities and tasks assigned by the department or company to support overall purchasing and administrative functions.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years of data entry experience in a professional setting.Ability to accurately enter a high volume of alphanumeric data into web-based systems such as Edge or similar ERP platforms.Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel and Outlook for data management and communication.Experience with purchase order entry and order processing.Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory-related processes.Background in administrative support and customer service in an office environment.High school diploma or equivalent education.Strong communication skills to interact effectively with vendors, coworkers, and management.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in the construction industry is a plus.Experience supporting purchasing, inventory, or procurement functions is beneficial.Comfort working with web-based tools and enterprise systems such as ERP or purchasing platforms.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling multiple requests and documents.Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team that values a supportive, family-like culture.Willingness to participate in team and culture events throughout the year.

Work Environment

This role is based in an in-office cubicle environment with standard business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position is a long-term opportunity and, after the training period, follows a hybrid schedule with two days in the office and three days working from home each week. The team regularly participates in culture and team-building events, fostering an environment that feels close-knit and supportive, with a strong sense of camaraderie. The dress code is business casual, reflecting a professional yet comfortable office setting, and the work involves daily use of web-based systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other office technology to support purchasing and data entry activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
