Nouria Energy is a fast pace, fast growing retail and wholesale petroleum company operating 155 locations from Maine into Connecticut with a corporate office located in Worcester, MA. We are seeking a motivated Purchasing Buyer who will be responsible for procurement of store equipment, supplies, negotiating favorable pricing and terms, inventory management, developing contractual agreements and RFP documents. Typical responsibilities include:

Review purchase requests, create and track purchase ordersEffectively manage supplier performance to meet cost and quality objectivesSource and carry out new vendor qualifications activitiesNegotiate with vendors to secure the best pricing, payment, and shipping termsImplement supplier agreements and statements of work (SOW) as neededSupport competitive bid process for various projects and development analysis and recommendationsMaintain supplier database for product master filesActs as a liaison between retail operations as it pertains to the requests of supplies and equipmentInteract with accounting to ensure invoicing discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or similar discipline2-5 years Purchasing experience in a retail environmentStrong communication and negotiating skills, written and verbalAbility to collaborate with cross-functional teamsProficient skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to stay organized, multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Working Environment and Physical Demands

Occasionally requires bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting to 10 pounds.May require driving or traveling overnight for business functions or site visits.Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
