**Description** Purchasing Assistant – JBS USA Food Company Souderton, PA Primary Role: Support plant operations by managing inventory of parts, materials, and PPE inventory; processing requisitions, cycle counts; and assisting Purchasing Lead & Supervisor. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: + Conduct daily and cyclical inventory counts. + Verify on-hand inventory and incoming shipments. + Maintain accurate records and proper labeling of materials. Material Handling: + Receive, issue, and deliver parts and materials. + Operate a forklift for unloading and storage. + Prepare materials for return or repair. Documentation & Data Entry: + Post receivers and issue slips in SAP. + File paperwork and slips in numerical sequence. + Locate parts and materials in the database for maintenance and other departments. Cross Training: + Provide support across purchasing areas including packaging and office operations. 5S Standards Commitment: + Maintain a clean and organized work area by applying 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain. + Actively contribute to the Standardize and Sustain phases to embed these practices into daily routines, promoting safety and operational excellence. Additional Duties: + Assist with special projects and audits. + Support other departments during peak times or absences. + Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. + Assist in training new team members and provide cross-functional support. + All other duties assigned. Requirements: + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. + Ability to work independently with a dependable work ethic. + Excellent computer skills: + SAP experience preferred + Microsoft Excel required + Ability to work in a fast pace environment. + Comfortable with physical tasks and forklift operation.
