Job Title: Purchasing Assistant
Job Description

The Purchasing Assistant is a pivotal role responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of the company's operations center operating systems, ensuring accurate take-off entry and maintenance. This position supports the division(s) assigned by maintaining standardized cost codes, item codes, item pricing, and generating lot start packages. The role involves creating and maintaining purchase orders for home building and performing tasks such as updating pricing, vendor changes, and adding or deleting items to purchase orders.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and maintain plan take-off information, including complete entry for new and revised plans.Establish and maintain option take-offs for all plans and communities within assigned division(s).Monitor home site budgeting process to create budgets in compliance with projected start dates.Review simulated take-off budgets prior to finalizing budgets and ensure accuracy in final budgets and start packages.Prepare and distribute start packages for the field and office weekly.Interact with estimating and division purchasing to resolve take-off and budget problems.Generate and maintain supplier/trade partner item pricing using Excel and JDE systems.Generate Cost per Square Foot reports and correct problem commitments in JDE.Collaborate with suppliers/trade partners to resolve old invoices.Respond to varying workload and pace as defined by business needs.Essential SkillsMinimum high school diploma or equivalent.At least 2 years of experience in an office environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience in JDE preferred.Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple, detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.Possess strong work ethic, integrity, and loyalty.Capability to work under pressure and as part of a team.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in 10-key typing and advanced Excel skills.Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Numbers-oriented mindset.Work Environment

The role is office-based, requiring work in a cubicle-style setting for five days a week. The office is located in a corporate building in the Westshore area, featuring a gym, cafe, and access to numerous nearby restaurants. A shuttle service to the airport and nearby dining options is available for employees. The team consists of approximately 25 purchasing assistants, supporting various geographical divisions across DE, PA, FL, NC, SC, NJ, and NY.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
