Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our purchasing department, focusing on order processing, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
ResponsibilitiesEnter purchase orders for stock and direct ship customer orders.Verify factory acknowledgements for accuracy and update acknowledgement dates in the system.Expedite purchase orders with the factory.Conduct weekly cycle counts of inventory and update corrections in the system, also reporting numbers to corporate.Maintain up-to-date computer records on suppliers’ prices, part numbers, and contacts.Verify new part numbers set up for accuracy.Reconcile factory invoices that do not match purchase orders.Collaborate with the factory on returns and damaged products.Essential SkillsExperience in purchasing and negotiation.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and purchase order processing.Basic computer skills and knowledge of the MS Office package.Ability to learn and apply new information quickly.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsSolid organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.Good problem-solving and reasoning skills.Work Environment
The position requires onsite work from 8am to 4:30pm. The workplace has been recognized as the best workplace 21 times, highlighting a supportive and productive environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
