Job Title: Purchasing Agent
Job Description

The Purchasing Agent will assist the Purchasing Coordinators by handling administrative tasks. This role involves tracking and recording all inventory transactions, processing and managing purchase orders for reorders, and ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement. The Purchasing Agent will maintain accurate purchasing records, including order documentation, supplier communications, and pricing data, and support the purchasing team in analyzing purchasing trends and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Additionally, collaboration with operations, finance, and management is essential to align purchasing activities with broader business objectives.

ResponsibilitiesTrack and record inventory of purchased goods.Enter daily receivables into inventory and submit documentation to Accounting.Identify reorder needs based on pre-determined trigger points.Monitor production schedules to anticipate upcoming material needs.Communicate delivery status of time-sensitive materials.Engage in daily communication regarding inventory levels and strategy.Submit purchase requisitions for approval for recurring replenishment.Migrate acquisitions and purchase orders.Deliver received items to appropriate locations.Collaborate with Quality Control to gather data required to submit quality complaints.Aid with data collection regarding incoming materials to assist in cycle tasks.Essential SkillsProficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent communication skills for internal and external contacts.Attention to detail and ability to work confidently with numerical data.Ability and desire to work both independently and within teams.Understanding of prioritization and multitasking on a daily basis.Additional Skills & QualificationsPurchasing experience is advantageous.Experience in produce or packaging is beneficial.Work Environment

The role requires collaboration with one other purchasing coordinator and receiving daily instructions and direction from them. The position is full-time at 40 hours per week, with minimal overtime, operating Monday through Friday. The workplace is comprised of approximately 65 employees, including general labor, warehouse employees, truck drivers, office staff, and a few employees at management and executive levels. The office environment is open and collaborative, with about 10-15 people present at any given time. It's a dynamic workspace due to the nature of their operations. The Headquarters is located in Riverside, serving as a direct distributor of agricultural containers and product packaging.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
