JOB SUMMARY

Perform millwright and/or machinist work on rotating equipment for routine maintenance throughout the refinery.  Diverse work tasks will be given daily depending on work schedule and urgent needs of refinery.  The work will occur in the field and shop environment.  The roll will be required to be on-call on a rotating basis for call out coverage.  This job is part of the current union contract and will be managed by the contract language and expected to follow all safety policies and mechanical procedures.    The current work schedule is a 4-10 Monday through Thursday.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

One (1) or more years related experience (Preferred)

Four (4) or more years of experience as journey level millwright or machinist

Required CertIfications/Licensures: (Current driver’s license)

Knowledge and technical training Preferred in:

API Pump Maintenance and overhaul

FinFan Maintenance

Steam Turbines

Reciprocating & Centrifugal compressors

Walk job site on a regular basis, Must wear special safety equipment (PPE) while working and must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment, Exposure to chemical vapors, high level of noise or heat that may require PPE, Ability to use physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment or tools. May work in confined spaces (i.e. tanks, between compressors, vessels), Able to work in an industrial environment indoors and outdoors and in extreme cold and heat climates, Must be able to work safely and observe all safety procedures and rules, Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque

Participates in available cross training to effectively develop skills in areas specific to other technicians

Utilizes precision tools and test equipment as needed

Remove rotating equipment from field Install rotating equipment and align Overhaul pumps, turbines, and compressor in a shop or field environment Machine parts for rotating equipment overhauls as needed Perform turbine trip tests and document Provide feedback on jobs Be able to help determine parts needed when troubleshooting equipment

Possesses computer proficiency such as: opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets

Routinely reacts to visual, oral, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work

Ability to take callouts and work overtime is required

Ability to read and understand, analyze and interpret documents, equipment repair manuals, reports and federal, state and local codes and regulations.

The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions
