Process Advisor- POX, Metal Extraction

Barrick is looking for The Process Advisor, this person will focus on optimizing the CIL circuit, improving gold recovery, ETP, Neutralization and water systems management, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role includes developing and auditing SOPs, creating training matrices, and mentoring the national workforce through structured progression plans. Additionally, the advisor will support Autoclave and Oxygen Plant operations, ensuring sustainable production systems that meet daily targets. The scope covers crushing, grinding, lime production, pressure oxidation, thickening, gold refining, and neutralization.

    Responsabilities:

Provide guidance to the Processing team on throughput constraints of the Plant to offer information for planning and decision making.  Put in place a development plan by actively imparting knowledge and providing on-the-job training, mentoring and assessing the national workforce. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Training Packages for the l POX, Metal Extraction associated equipment.  Develop IDPs for Support to the Superintendent, General Supervisors (GS) and assist GSs with similar development of the supervisors with assistance from the POX Superintendent. Monitor & assist in the progress and provide formal monthly feedback identifying areas still requiring development.  Introduce and develop new improvement techniques and projects to demonstrate best industry practice to the workforce.  Develop the commissioning plan for all equipment pending for ramp up.  Review and optimize existing operational and maintenance procedures for existing and new equipment. 

      Qualifications:

Bachelor´s degree in Chemical Engineering or Science Fluent proficiency in Spanish/English is highly desired.  Microsoft Office Suite.  Knowledge in the use of production, maintenance and engineering software would be an asset.  +10 years’ experience in the operation of Oxygen Plants (ASU/PSA etc).  Practical experience in other mineral processing/processing plant operations would be an asset.  Experience in setting up training programs and safety procedures.
