As a **Public Sector Industry Advisor,** you will lead strategic engagements with federal, state, and local government agencies across the United States. In this pivotal role, you will act as a trusted advisor to public sector leaders, helping them navigate complex challenges and unlock the full potential of digital transformation. As a senior individual contributor, you will play a critical role in translating public sector needs into actionable Microsoft solutions. Your work will accelerate pipeline creation, enable repeatable industry scenarios, and influence the development of scalable, impactful solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with account teams, partners, and Microsoft’s Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) organization to co-develop offerings that address mission-critical objectives—whether it's modernizing citizen services, enhancing public safety, or improving operational efficiency. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of government through technology, while working at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution. **Responsibilities** **Lead Strategic Engagements Across Government Verticals** + Engage directly with senior executives across Public Safety & Justice, Public Finance, Government Operations, and Social Services. + Understand and translate government priorities into actionable digital transformation strategies. + Build trusted relationships with decision-makers to influence long-term technology adoption and innovation. **Drive Consultative Sales & Pipeline Generation** + Lead consultative sales motions that align Microsoft technologies with public sector challenges. + Utilize repeatable industry scenarios to accelerate pipeline creation and support strategic account planning. + Partner with sales teams to identify opportunities and shape solution roadmaps that deliver measurable impact. **Collaborate to Co-Develop Scalable Solutions** + Work cross-functionally with account teams, partners, and Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) to co-create scalable, mission-driven solutions. + Orchestrate complex deal structures that align with customer needs and Microsoft’s strategic goals. + Ensure solution relevance and repeatability across multiple government agencies and jurisdictions. **Deliver Thought Leadership & Influence Policy** + Provide industry insights and thought leadership to guide digital transformation strategies and policy-level decisions. + Represent Microsoft at public sector forums, conferences, and executive briefings. + Advocate for technology-driven innovation in government service delivery and operational efficiency. **Support Field Enablement & Deal Execution** + Contribute to RFx responses, proposal development, and deal structuring to support field teams. + Provide subject matter expertise during customer engagements and solution presentations. + Help scale best practices and enablement materials across the public sector organization. **Qualifications** **Required/minimum qualifications** + Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Supply Chain, Education, Business or related field AND 5+ years customer-facing experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement program management, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Supply Chain, Education, Business or related field AND 7+ years customer-facing experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement program management, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR equivalent experience. + 5+ years experience in consultative selling, account planning, and sales strategy in complex environments. + 7+ years experience in executive engagement with U.S. government agencies driving decisions with policy, budget and procurement. **Additional or preferred qualifications** + Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Supply Chain, Education, Business or related field AND 7+ years customer-facing experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement program management, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Supply Chain, Education, Business or related field AND 10+ years customer-facing experience in operations, enterprise-level improvement program management, product management, transportation, hospitality, automotive, consumer goods, financial services, retail, management consulting, consultative selling, public sector, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience OR equivalent experience. + 5+ years proven people management and/or leadership experience. + Executive presence and ability to build trusted relationships with CxOs and influence strategic direction. + Familiarity with Microsoft solution areas (Azure, Business Applications, Modern Work, Security) and their application to public sector use cases. + Willingness to travel up to 50%, including occasional national engagements. Industry Advisory IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
