into the Hartford HealthCare network and is the systemrsquos second largest hospital Job Summary Public Safety Officers serve as front line guardians to the Hartford HealthCare Community by providing customer service and ensuring our environments are safe secure and more prepared for all of our patients visitors colleagues clinicians and physicians Public Safety Officers are equipped to prevent hazardous situations with their presence respond and manage hazardous and emergency situations and provide support and resources when situations are successfully managed middot Provides professional customer service focused assistance to the HHC Community including patients visitors families colleagues clinicians physicians and the first responder community among othersmiddot Patrols and rounds facility to identify concerning activity safety concerns or other problems May be assigned to fixed areas to check credentials provide information or directions When assigned to mobile patrols operates vehicles in a safe manner complying with all traffic and safety rulesmiddot Provides a timely response uses problem solving to take appropriate action to manage and investigate security incidents and hazardsmiddot Maintain current knowledge of instructions policies and procedures and performs work in accordance with these guidelinesmiddot Shares information with other Public Safety Officers maintains accurate activity logs and completes reports and documentationmiddot Partners with law enforcement and other first responders when circumstances warrantmiddot Informs supervisor or diplomaGEDrequiredmiddot Valid driverrsquos license requiredmiddot Valid CT Guard Card requiredmiddot Ability to read write speak and understand English requiredmiddot Two years of relevant experience preferredmiddot Basic First Aid and CPR preferredmiddot Crisis Prevention Institute CPI preferredmiddot Management of Aggressive Behaviors MOAB preferredmiddot Multilingual preferredmiddot Ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to perform duties promptly and consistently with little direction based on the current circumstancesmiddot Focused on providing an exceptional experience to
