Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Public Involvement Specialist in both Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN to support our growing portfolio of major transportation projects in the Midwest. The position involves public outreach and communications support for complex transportation infrastructure projects from preliminary design through construction. With the goal of creating project understanding, as well as positive project perception, the position will require expert skill and experience in a variety of internal and external communication strategies, including stakeholder communications. Solid writing skills, strong verbal communications, proficient editing, and detailed organization are a must. Working knowledge of basic graphic design is a strong plus.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Develop an understanding of the project, key issues, and potential stakeholders and create a public involvement plan to meet project team goalsDevelop strategies and tactics to build project understanding, engagement and acceptanceDevelop strategies and tactics to effectively and efficiently engage stakeholdersPrepare written content for use in project communications, including press releases, social media posts, websites, presentations, handouts and brochuresDesign simple graphics to support communications and team needsSupport public outreach events, including public meetings, committee meetings and community events

 

What Qualifications You’ll Bring:

4-year degree in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, or Journalism (or equivalent)2+ years of professional full-time experienceExperience with basic graphic design (Adobe Creative Cloud)Exemplary professional attitude and demonstrated ability to exercise excellent customer service and support, is required, as is the ability to interface effectively with a variety of peopleWhile not required, directly related work experience with transportation and/or public sector is highly desirable

Salary Range: $63,600.00 - $111,300.00
