Description
The Public Affairs Manager performs highly complex and detail oriented work for a variety of department operations and initiatives. The position requires an experienced, creative and energetic corporate communications/marketing professional. The individual must thrive under pressure and be able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced environment. The chief function is to promote a favorable image of Citizens’ positive performance and accomplishments to internal and external audiences through effectively leveraging bank charitable giving, philanthropic and community outreach activities as well as media and social media. In New England, this position also supports the NE Region in a variety of support functions.
Primary responsibilities include
Develop strategy for and execute local charitable contributions activities insuring proper administration of foundation budgets, adherence to Citizens giving guidelines and compliance with all policies and procedures of the Citizens Charitable Foundation.Serve as strategic advisor to state president and other senior leaders regarding Public Affairs activities in the local markets. Work with Regional Director to position state president strategically in local business, civic and nonprofit communities.Increase visibility of bank by securing and capitalizing on positive, unpaid community media opportunities; make recommendations on local media business feature stories.Liaise with Public Affairs Centralized Functions, Marketing, Internal Communications and Media and Social Media teams to create and communicate consistent messaging internally and externally; manage market updates to centralized events calendar as well as program ad creation.Execute colleague engagement (volunteer) programs on a local level such as Colleagues in Action and Citizens Helping Citizens Volunteer Award; identify local colleague volunteer opportunities to populate the volunteer portal.Execute signature initiatives, including Financial Literacy, Champions in Action, Gear for Grades, and Hunger Initiatives across the markets.Serve as Public Affairs representative at local market leadership team meetings; present information as appropriate.Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
