and Geriatric ServicesThe Adult Inpatient Service provides an integrated approach to rapid stabilization in a safe and therapeutic environment The aim is to tailor each personrsquos treatment plan to his or her individual needs as much as possible This is based upon assessment of each patients individual needs Patients are encouraged to attend groups to find commonality in their issues along with skills training relapse prevention skills and leisure skills trainingJob SummaryPsychologist will provide assessment and treatment services to an acute adult inpatient population that includes individual family and group psychotherapies In addition the Psychologist is a core member of the Psychology Departmentrsquos training faculty and functions as the primary supervisor of the Psychology Departmentrsquos Psychology Intern and Postdoctoral Fellow who rotate through the inpatient service Strong interests in training and education of both Psychology trainees and other disciplines are requiredIn addition to the Psychology specific responsibilities this role includes serving as the Unit Psychologist and will assume responsibilities of facilitating multidisciplinary discussions of and development of individualized treatment plans the identification of evidence based interventions and to assist nursing staff in the development of behavioral management strategies to aid in milieu
