Open Faculty Position: Division Head of Ambulatory (Adult) Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Cooper University Health Care and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) are expanding clinical services, teaching and research programs, and innovative population health initiatives. CUH/CMSRU has an opening for a faculty position as Division Head of Ambulatory Psychiatry. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical care with teaching, scholarly activity, services innovation and administrative leadership.
Building upon Cooper’s strong foundation of community-focused and hospital-based services, and CMSRU’s nationally recognized mission to improve the health of underserved communities, the Department has been implementing an exciting plan to expand ambulatory practices throughout Southern New Jersey, to develop a comprehensive population health informed integrated behavioral health program, and to link with community-based health/mental health providers in Camden and surrounding counties.
The Division Head of Ambulatory Psychiatry is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the practice operations, clinical services, and strategic initiatives of the ambulatory psychiatry division. The role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care; enhancing service efficiency and clinical productivity; developing new treatment programs; teaching medical students, residents and other trainees; fostering a collaborative environment; conducting clinical research; and sharing duties with other members of the department. The Division Head is expected to lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with other clinical departments within a collaborative care framework.

Experience RequiredAppointment and rank will be commensurate with experience. Candidates should have several years of experience in clinical care and program development, hold active ACGME board certification in General Psychiatry, and be eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey.
Education RequirementsMD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree.
License/Certification RequirementsNew Jersey medical license
