Job Summary:
The Proposal Engineer for Sustainability Services will be responsible for developing high-quality technical and commercial proposals for clients in the Middle East and Caspian Sea Region. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, understanding client requirements, and crafting tailored solutions to meet sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sustainability, carbon management, and sustainable development services, ensuring that all proposals are accurate, competitive, and aligned with Bureau Veritas’ strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Proposal Development: Prepare and develop detailed, client-specific proposals for sustainability, ESG, carbon, and e-mobility services in collaboration with technical and commercial teams.
• Client Engagement: Act as the primary contact for clients during the proposal preparation stage, ensuring clear communication and a thorough understanding of their requirements.
• Scope Definition: Define the scope of work, deliverables, timelines, and costs based on client needs and sustainability goals.
• Market Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to understand regional market trends, client needs, and competitor offerings in the sustainability sector across the Middle East and Caspian Sea region.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sustainability consultants, project managers, and the legal team, to ensure that all proposals are comprehensive and aligned with corporate standards.
• Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates and develop pricing strategies to ensure proposals are competitive while maintaining profitability.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks associated with proposed solutions, including technical and financial risks, and incorporate mitigation strategies into the proposal.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure all proposals meet regional regulatory and industry standards related to sustainability and ESG practices.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain organized records of proposals, client communications, and project milestones. Prepare regular reports on proposal status and success rates.
• Continuous Improvement: Actively seek feedback on proposals from clients and internal teams to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of future proposals.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in proposal writing, project management, or business development in sustainability services or related fields, ideally within the Middle East and Caspian Sea region.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of sustainability services, including ESG, carbon management, energy efficiency, and e-mobility solutions.
• Commercial Acumen: Experience in pricing strategies, financial modeling, and contract negotiation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and commercial information clearly and concisely to clients and stakeholders.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software. Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce) is an advantage.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in technical and financial documentation.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic languages is an advantage.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address client needs and align them with tailored solutions.
• Teamwork: Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
