This Position reports to:

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the assigned Sales organization and customers throughout the proposal process. Acting as a vital technical resource, you will leverage your expertise to develop compelling commercial solutions tailored to automotive manufacturing clients. Responsibilities include preparing technical product descriptions, determining cost estimates, and delivering complete proposal documentation. By utilizing ABB’s advanced technologies, you will help ensure competitive, margin-focused proposals that build customer trust and drive business success.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
 

Collaborate cross-functionally within ABB’s Automotive Robotics division to develop solutions and proposals for electrified powertrain applications.Own key aspects of the bid process, including customer intake, process development, cost estimation, and bid document preparation.Act as the primary customer interface, translating requirements into competitive and executable proposals featuring ABB robotic products and systems.Perform target price and cost analysis using historical data and competitive intelligence for both local and global execution tenders.Lead and support Local & Global Risk Reviews, evaluate contractual risks, and prepare supporting estimates and documentation.Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and enhancing tendering processes, tools, and workflows.Establish market-competitive sales pricing in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications for the Role:
 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Automation Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field8+ years’ experience developing proposals for automotive applications, including cost estimation; 5+ years of experience with mechanical tool design and modeling software such as AutoCAD or CatiaProven experience conducting Local and Global Proposal Risk Reviews and managing customer and global stakeholder relationsProficiency in SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including VBA/macrosDemonstrated ability to write large-scale automotive proposals, including those exceeding $20M USDStrong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlinesFamiliarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and machine learning is a plusApplicants must be willing to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated proficiency in: Calculation of Gross Margin and Net Margin, Contractual language, such as domestic and international shipping, invoice/payment/warranty language, understanding of taxation implications in cross-border labor contracts and MES; ability to estimate mechanical, electrical and fluid power systems in terms of labor and materials and compute automation system throughput, perform machine cycle time estimates
