Department Summary:

MITRE’s Finance Business Operations is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Property Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess experience with government property, with a willingness to assist in required processes to ensure we maintain MITRE’s approved property system. You will report to the Government Property Lead Supervisor and will serve as a trusted business partner with internal customers.  The role will be a hybrid position working 60% of the time in person on our Bedford, MA campus.

Roles & Responsibilities:

SharePoint Management: Maintain oversight of the Property Management SharePoint site, ensuring accuracy and proper file organization.

Contract Code Administration: Generate and manage contract codes, maintaining an up-to-date contract code listing.

Equipment Disposition: Execute the equipment disposition process at the warehouse, including overseeing the wiping of hard drives.

Excess Equipment Sales: Obtain bids for the sale of excess equipment stored at the warehouse.

Donations Management: Oversee and execute the donation process for excess equipment to not-for-profit organizations.

Tax Reporting: Generate and submit tax reports to the Tax Department in alignment with the yearly reporting schedule.

Ticket Processing: Manage and process property-related tickets through the Zendesk Ticket system.

Training and Administration: Train receivers and serve as a receiving administrator within MITRE’s Source-to-Pay system.

PCard Review: Conduct weekly reviews of PCard purchases for equipment, ensuring all items are properly recorded in MITRE’s Property system.

Audit Compliance: Maintain a working understanding of internal and external audit requirements, including those from Sponsors, DCAA, and DCMA.

Conflict Resolution: Escalate conflicts related to terms and conditions to management when necessary, ensuring timely resolution.

Independent Judgment: Exercise independent judgment within defined practices and policies, focusing on clear communication and effective relationship management.

Relationship Building: Demonstrate strong relationship-building skills at multiple levels, fostering collaboration with both internal and external customers through verbal and written communication.

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis as part of the disposition/donate process in the warehouse operations.

Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to work independently and make decisions within established guidelines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with SharePoint, Zendesk, and property management systems is a plus.

Familiarity with audit requirements and compliance standards (e.g., DCAA, DCMA) is preferred.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

A collaborative mindset with the ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse teams.

Per the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.

This position requires a minimum of 60% hybrid on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience and proficiency with property management tracking systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.

Expertise in property plant clearance reporting, including the ability to manage and execute related processes effectively.

Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint financial systems, with a focus on property and asset management.

Proficiency in using Ivalua Source-to-Pay solutions for procurement and property-related workflows.

Familiarity with Sponsor Annual Reporting requirements, including the ability to meet deadlines and ensure compliance.

Experience managing contract awards and closeouts, with a strong understanding of associated processes and documentation.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and consistently meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced organizational environment.

Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to prioritize tasks and managing competing demands in an ever-changing environment.

Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent work streams while maintaining high-quality output and attention to detail.

$60,500 - $75,500 - $90,500 Annual
