Property Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Property Manager to manage financial operations for residential apartment communities in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting property management teams to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing budgets and financial reporting. Responsibilities: • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for assigned properties, including income statements and balance sheets. • Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring expenses align with financial goals. • Process rent payments and reconcile accounts to ensure tenant billing accuracy. • Collaborate with property managers to support leasing and maintenance operations through financial reporting. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations. • Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. • Manage vendor accounts and oversee payment processing for property-related services. • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for cost optimization. • Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for property operations. • Maintain organized records and documentation to facilitate smooth audits and reporting processes. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or a related financial role. • Strong proficiency in accounting software and tools. • Knowledge of residential property management and associated financial processes. • Excellent organizational and analytical skills. • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards. • Ability to communicate effectively with property managers and vendors. • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial records.
