Property Accountant
Description We are looking for two talented Property Accountants to join a dynamic real estate company headquartered in Southfield, Michigan. Responsibilities: • Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure all associated account reconciliations are completed for multiple entities during each reporting period. • Record journal entries supported by thorough backup documentation to maintain the integrity of financial data. • Assist with reviewing, coding, and approving invoices for payment while adhering to company policies. • Provide detailed financial data and documentation to support real estate acquisition and disposition transactions. • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies by actively monitoring and reviewing procedures. • Collaborate with property managers and regional leaders to provide financial insights and investor reporting as needed. • Support cross-functional teams by addressing ad-hoc financial requests and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. • Handle various additional tasks based on team and organizational requirements to contribute to seamless operations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.2. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and working with financial statements. • Familiarity with general ledger functions and exposure to the property management industry. • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and manipulate financial data effectively. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members across departments. • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to tasks. • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. • Previous experience in real estate accounting or property management is a plus but not required.
