Description Our client is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to oversee the financial operations and accounting for multiple commercial properties. Reporting to the Controller, the Property Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate property-level records, supporting monthly close processes, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient operations. Responsibilities: + Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with a focus on accuracy and timeliness (AvidXchange experience preferred). + Perform property-level accounting tasks in Yardi, including general ledger entries, cash management, and AP functions. + Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, allocations, depreciation, and other accounting adjustments. + Maintain tenant ledgers, process billing adjustments, and handle non-standard cash receipts. + Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, ensuring compliance with company financial procedures. + Record new property acquisitions and set up appropriate accounting frameworks. + Monitor AR aging, assist with collections, and provide variance analysis. + Collaborate with property management and construction teams to resolve invoice coding and align processes. + Support monthly financial close, respond to audit requests, and generate ad hoc financial reports. + Identify and implement process improvements to optimize the accounting function.
