Property Accountant
Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Irvine, California. In this role, you will oversee financial operations related to property accounting, including revenue management and asset oversight. You will collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer, accounting team, and third-party property management staff to maintain efficient financial systems and ensure accurate reporting. Responsibilities: • Prepare financial statements, ledgers, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including coding invoices and overseeing payment workflows. • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and adjustments to ensure financial accuracy. • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain data integrity. • Provide oversight for resident-related financial processes, including rent statements, move-ins/move-outs, and ledger adjustments. • Collaborate with third-party property management teams to ensure seamless financial operations. • Utilize accounting software systems, such as AvidXchange and PayLease, to streamline workflows and maintain records. • Support the preparation of budgets, financial analyses, and audit documentation. • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for decision-making. • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property accounting. • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Yardi, AvidXchange, and PayLease. • Strong knowledge of MS365 and Microsoft Office products. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently or collaboratively as needed. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to exercise discretion in sensitive matters. • Effective communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
