Project Superintendent
Project Superintendent Company: QAP Location: Anchorage Country: USA Type of Contract: Regular / Permanent Publication Date: Oct 21, 2025 Job Summary The successful candidate will supervise multiple areas of projects in accordance with contract requirements and timeframes and be aware of relevant costing/supply/budgets. They must adhere to all organization policies and procedures and be responsible for maintaining accurate data/records/documentation. The Superintendent will forecast the number of employees, materials, and equipment needed to efficiently perform assigned project(s) while being aligned with all safety standards. This is a supervisor position and the successful candidate will be expected to set an example for team members of commitment, safe practices & ensure that personnel/tasks adhere to all legal & safety requirements. This candidate will also oversee the assessment and allocation of required personnel supplies & equipment and ensure that the highest level of quality is maintained while minimizing downtime and waste. Candidate must have experience with large project operation management. Main Responsibilities + Ensure specifications within the project proposal and plans are followed. + Meet with the client representative (customer) to confirm quantities daily. + Review job schedules and cost breakdowns, resolving any potential issues with the PM prior to work progression. + Keep progress schedule current, review schedule status and job costs at a minimum of once a week. + With the assistance of the PM ensure that all change orders and force accounts are properly completed and documented. + Attend pre-construction and construction meetings, any issues or concerns relating to the project will be documented and shared with the PM. + Coordinates with the Safety team and HR to ensure all company and government safety regulations are being met. + Coordinates with Project Engineers and Crew Leads to ensure the progression of projects in a timely manner while being heavily involved with day-to-day allocation of resources. + Delegate tasks to be completed by Crew Leads and regulates the completion of successful day-to-day operations. + Communicates with subcontractors and other employees to ensure the procurement of supplies and materials as needed. + Operating engineers may be expected to perform equipment and materials inspections. + Must be able to understand specifications and instructions, both verbal and written. + Working with heavy-duty machinery requires knowledge of and strict adherence to safety regulations. + Wear all proper personal protective equipment. + Travel and work at remote sites within Southeast Alaska communities may be required. + Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays. Typical weekly work hours can meet or exceed 60 hours. Skills + MSHA Certification. + OSHA 10 hr Certification. + CPR/First Aid Certification desired. + Driver’s License + Ability to read, analyze and interpret plans, specifications, external and internal policies/guidelines/regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and effectively present information to large groups and interact with managers, clients, customers, and the general public. + Basic computer knowledge including knowledge of email, Power point, MS Word, Excel, and internet applications. Ability to learn corporate programs. + Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related and 5-7 years of proven ability OR 10 years of proven ability in management of large projects and DOT experience. Physical Requirements + Exert force of 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds constantly. + Must be able to pass a drug screening and a PAT (physical abilities test).
