You’ll work closely with Project Managers and senior leadership, gaining exposure across the full accounting lifecycle while supporting high-profile projects for nationally recognized clients such as ESPN, Raytheon, and Yale. 🔑 Why This Role Stands Out + Clear Path to Leadership – Intentional growth into Controller or CFO roles + High-Profile Projects – Support complex construction work for marquee clients + End-to-End Ownership – See projects through from bid to closeout + Hands-On & Strategic – Blend detailed accounting with forward-looking financial insight + Growing Organization – Join a firm experiencing sustained expansion and opportunity 🧱 What You’ll Be Responsible ForProject & Financial Accounting + Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports using Sage 300 and Excel + Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements + Track cost-to-complete, job profitability, and project forecasting + Support projects from inception through closeout + Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Accounts Payable & Receivable + Prepare customer invoices, including AIA billing + Record and manage AR transactions and cash receipts + Process AP invoices and oversee check runs + Set up and maintain customers, projects, and vendors in the accounting system + Collect and manage subcontractor W‑9s, insurance certificates, and compliance documentation + Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and outstanding issues Tax, Audit & Compliance + File sales and use tax + Support internal and external audits + Maintain accurate records in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements Collaboration & Leadership Development + Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate forecasting and financial performance + Support onboarding and mentorship of junior accounting staff + Participate in special projects, system enhancements, and process improvements + Gain increasing exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning 🎯 What You BringRequired Qualifications + 5+ years of accounting experience in a construction environment + Strong working knowledge of: + Project accounting + General ledger + Accounts payable and receivable + Experience with AIA Billing + Proficiency in Sage 300 and advanced Excel + Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting Preferred Qualifications + Experience in a small to midsize construction firm + Demonstrated interest in long-term growth and leadership development + Ability to identify process improvements and deliver practical, scalable solutions 🏗️ Work Environment & Growth Opportunity This is a fully onsite role within a collaborative, close‑knit accounting team.
