Job Summary

The Data Science for Dynamic Intervention Decision-Making Center (d3c) is an interdisciplinary collective of data scientists revolutionizing the design and delivery of interventions in healthcare and education. d3c strives to cultivate a bottom-up, interactive, team-oriented workplace that values how people work together in the service of developing and disseminating novel data science tools that matter. As we develop the methodological toolkit scientists need to address today?s biggest public health challenges, we?re building an open-source ecosystem for sharing our tools and collaborating with and training scientific partners to implement our methodology to solve real-world problems. Through partnerships with stakeholders around the world, we work to catalyze a new generation of evidence-based, technology-powered treatments that improve health and education outcomes for everyone.

The d3c Project Manager will support this array of research, software, and data projects. You will collaborate with researchers, behavioral scientists, data scientists, software developers, program managers, and other partners. In this pivotal role, you will help to ensure alignment between organizational objectives and project execution by managing cross-disciplinary collaborations and fostering partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. 

 

This is a one-year term-limited role with the potential for renewal depending on funding and performance.

Ideal candidates will thrive doing both flexible project management and service-oriented partner management. The d3c Project Manager will report to the d3c Managing Director. 

Responsibilities*

20% Strategic Project Management

Maintain a high-level view of all active and proposed projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and timelinesServe as a central point of contact for project status updates, reporting, and communications with internal and external stakeholdersTrack project milestones, deliverables, and risks, escalating issues as needed to ensure timely and successful outcomes

 

40% Project Coordination & Support

Facilitate project kick-off meetings to align teams around clear timelines, roles, deliverables, and expectationsCreate and maintain shared resources, toolkits, and documentation to support consistent and efficient project executionManage complex scheduling and logistics for meetings and workshops 

 

30% Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Building

Act as a relationship manager for cross-institutional and external partners, cultivating trust and long-term collaborationConsult with faculty, researchers, and administrative staff to define project needs, goals, and success metricsRepresent the d3c team in meetings, sharing updates, gathering feedback, and advocating for project priorities

 

10% Operational Support

Support budgeting, purchasing, and expense tracking processes in collaboration with administrative and financial staffIdentify and address operational barriers that impact project execution examples include optimizing project management systems, coordinating staff training renewals, or supporting digital migrationsRecommend and implement process improvements that contribute to team efficiency and organizational impactServe as a primary contact for project updates, reporting, and stakeholder communicationsRequired Qualifications*Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.2-4 years of related professional experience in project coordination or project management at the Intermediate level.4 or more years of related professional experience in project coordination or project management at the Senior levelDemonstrated experience managing complex research or data projectsDemonstrated experience managing or supporting multiple concurrent projects with timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communicationStrong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience working collaboratively in interdisciplinary or cross-functional teamsExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsPrevious experience in managing stakeholder relationshipsWork Locations

Work location is onsite in Ann Arbor with flexibility for hybrid work within our overall Center policies.

Underfill Statement

Openings may be filled at the Project Intermediate Manager or Project Senior Manager level depending on match with opportunity, your depth and breadth of experience and qualifications.

Positions at the Project Intermediate Manager level will be filled at the $75,000 -81,000 salary range.Positions at the Project Senior Manager level will be filled at the $82,000-88,000 salary range.Additional Information
