Join us. **Job Description** AECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for a Project Safety Specialist for our project in Cincinnati. * Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements. * Maintains current knowledge of specific government agency requirements. * Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty. * Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. * Develops, implements and maintains safety and health programs, systems and procedures. Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases in the work area. * Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace. * Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards. * Develops and conducts employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs. * Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice. * May act as a lead role for a team of ES&H specialists and/or support personnel. * May administer an ES&H program on a small or medium-sized project. Construction field positions require physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis. **Work Environment:** Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the phase of construction. Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety. Additional duties may be assigned as needed based on the scope and progress of the project. **Preferred Requirements:** + Aviation construction, airport construction strongly preferred. + CHST/CSP/OSHA 500 or similar certification. + Safety construction professional experience from a larger General Contractor. + Experience working on a large construction project. + Experience with OCIP and CSIP management. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). **Additional Information** + This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future. + Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. + This position is not hybrid nor remote. + Valid Driver’s License to operate an AECOM provided motor vehicle on construction project site(s) to support project tasks assignments and scope of work. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
