Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Manager with proficiency in building electrical systems to support the development and implementation of design standards across multiple building programs. The role involves serving as the primary liaison between key internal design stakeholder teams, external design teams, and general contractors to aid design development and increase standardization across all building sites.

ResponsibilitiesOversee multiple MEP projects simultaneously, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.Develop and implement program-wide strategies, processes, and best practices.Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to align MEP programs with overall organizational goals.Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to meet deadlines and objectives.Provide technical guidance and expertise on MEP systems and technologies.Review and approve MEP designs, specifications, and drawings.Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.Lead and mentor a team of MEP engineers, designers, and project managers.Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct regular performance evaluations.Establish and maintain quality control processes for MEP systems.Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure work meets quality standards.Identify and resolve technical issues and discrepancies.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on MEP-related matters.Manage client expectations and communicate project status regularly.Address and resolve client concerns promptly and effectively.Develop and manage program budgets.Monitor project costs and implement cost-saving measures where appropriate.Prepare financial reports and forecasts for upper management.Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.Manage change orders and contract modifications.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in MEP systems.Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.Contribute to the company's knowledge base and share insights with team members.Essential SkillsBachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Professional Engineer (P.E) preferred.10+ years of project management experience from design development through construction administration to complex commercial projects; industrial experience preferred.Strong knowledge of building codes, NEC standards, NFPA, and industry regulations.Demonstrated proficiency in BIM coordination and clash detection on developing projects.Impeccable organization, written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and Autodesk Suite (Revit, Autodesk BIM 360, Navisworks).Additional Skills & QualificationsAdvanced technical knowledge in MEP systems, building codes, and industry standards.Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion.Strong program and project management skills, including the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.Demonstrated leadership abilities in team management, mentoring, and fostering collaborative relationships.Proficiency in relevant software applications including BIM tools, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, project management software, and energy modeling programs.Expert-level financial management capabilities including budget development, cost control, and value engineering.Superior communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends and sustainable building practices.Ability to lead detailed design discussions while ensuring program-level goals are met.Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.Ability to communicate technical design content to non-technical team members.Ability to present to leadership clearly and concisely.Work Environment

This role involves occasional travel to domestic construction sites. The work environment is fast-paced and involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, requiring prioritization of critical tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $71.25/hr.
