Siemens Smart Infrastructure has an exciting opportunity for a Project Procurement Management Professional to join our team based in our Sydney offices.
As a Project Procurement Management Professional your primary responsibility will be to provide procurement support for our project teams from the initial tender and bid phase to project execution. In this role you will handle, control, and monitor all procurement and if required, manage the purchasing activities in each project. You will also support Factory Procurement in sourcing activities, supplier management and supplier optimization, Negotiate Framework Agreements with key factory suppliers to reduce risk and optimize costs, and deliver on Factory procurement KPI's related to Purchase Price Change. This is a key role within the Siemens Smart Infrastructure business, and demands an individual who has a positive, energetic, motivational, and collaborative attitude. You will lead a culture of ownership, with our people and the customer at the core.
Your key responsibilities will include:* Participate in project/sales meetings as project core team member to exert a shaping influence at an early stage and to optimize internal workflows and processes.* Meet with cross-functional partners and participate in project/sales meetings to provide procurement market and preferred supplier information at an early stage to optimize supplier selection, internal workflows and processes.* Establishes proper sourcing and Procurement processes and controls all Procurement resources and activities in the project.* Analyze customer inquiries during bid preparation / opportunity management phases and exactly understands the customer's functional needs in order to include (supplier) innovations.* Support project calculation with reliable material cost data.* Analyze scope of supply and contract agreements, carries out risk analyses and introduces negotiation recommendations.* Analyze sales and operations planning in respect of starting / new projects, assessing, and controlling of material costs within the whole project business in order to ensure the involvement of Procurement.* Drive Procurement strategies across key commodities and ensures their implementation.* Head up contractual and price negotiations and/or supports the specialist buyers responsible for particular material fields.* Ensure that mitigation of Procurement risks, changes to original scope of supply and potential claims (towards customers and suppliers) are covered in valid contracts. * Ensure that contractual obligations towards the customer that must be fulfilled by supplier are covered in a way that mitigates the own risk exposure. * Clarify internal indicators for project controlling and compiling all relevant information to submit qualified reports.* Lead Supplier Performance Management initiatives - conduct supplier qualifications & project-specific supplier evaluations (project evaluations) and supplier development activities. Follow-up with suppliers in regard to NCC costs* Support Factory Procurement in sourcing activities, supplier management and supplier optimization* Negotiate Framework Agreements with key factory suppliers to reduce risk and optimize costs * Forward systematically all relevant Procurement related project information.* Deliver on Factory procurement KPI's related to Purchase Price Change.
The successful candidate will have experience managing the procurement for multiple projects, and prior experience working within the Construction or Building Automation space would be highly regarded. Your strong leadership and communication skills and ability to build sound working relationships will ensure your success in this role as well as your demonstrated experience in handling multiple projects.
