Job Title: Project Planning & Controls Lead

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Project Planning & Controls Lead to support the execution of a major brownfield expansion project, increasing production capacity from 28,000 to 40,000 bbl/d, as well as future developments. This role will be pivotal in integrating planning, cost control, and reporting across internal teams and external partners. The successful candidate will work closely with project management, engineering, and construction teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage project controls systems, procedures, and reports.Coordinate integrated execution schedules with internal and external stakeholders.Monitor project budgets, timelines, risks, and trends.Implement change management and continuous improvement processes.Maintain cost forecasting, cash flow, and earned value tracking.Prepare monthly project reports and master project schedules.Collaborate with Finance on invoicing, accruals, and financial reporting.Contribute to engineering and construction work process improvements.Must Have -10+ years of progressive experience in project execution in both EP (Engineering & Procurement) and owner/operator roles.Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI).Proficiency in project controls software.In-depth knowledge of cost estimating and cost analysis.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Legally entitled to work in Canada.Additional Skills & QualificationsPMP certification.Experience with thermal oil, SAGD, or similar upstream oil & gas projects.Background in both brownfield and project environments.Familiarity with risk management frameworks and continuous improvement planning.Exposure to hybrid project scopes involving CPF additions and well pad development.Work Environment

The role is based in a downtown office with some travel to site required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $77.00 - $86.00/hr.
