Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Project Planner to join our project team and support the planning and execution of a large-scale offshore engineering project.
The Project Planner will play a pivotal role in maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, identifying potential delays, and collaborating with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
This role is key to ensuring timely and efficient delivery across all project phases.
Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling Maintain project schedules using industry-standard planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project). Coordinate with discipline leads to gather input for schedule updates, work breakdown structures (WBS), and activity durations. Ensure alignment of project milestones and deliverables with contract requirements and client expectations.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting Track and analyse schedule variance, progress trends, and earned value management (EVM). Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and schedule forecasts for internal review. Conduct critical path analysis and highlight key risks and opportunities related to schedule performance.
Interdisciplinary Coordination Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure cross-functional schedule integration. Facilitate planning workshops and coordination meetings to validate and update schedules. Risk & Change Management Identify schedule risks and propose mitigation strategies to minimize impact on key project deliverables. Maintain change logs and assess schedule impact of design modifications, scope changes, or contractor delays. Support preparation of recovery schedules when required.
Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records and planning documentation. Ensure planning and scheduling practices comply with company procedures, client specifications, and industry standards. Support internal and external audits by providing relevant planning data and reports.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. 7–15 years of relevant experience in project planning roles, preferably within the offshore oil & gas or heavy industrial sectors. Demonstrated experience in using planning software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project. Experience in multi-disciplinary project environments with interfaces across engineering, procurement, and construction.
