The Opportunity:
The focus of this position is to directly support Project Material Management efforts for the USS Blue Ridge at Ship Repair Facility, Japan Regional Maintenance Center (SRF-JRMC). This includes development of a material management strategy, receipt, stowage, inventory and issue of kitted material, and disposition of unutilized or excess material during project closeout. The work will be performed in accordance with the relevant guidance including but not limited to the PMM Handbook, the NAVSUP P485, the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), the Availability Management Manual (AMM), and the AIM-NG Process Manual. The work will be as part of a team and will include interaction with other codes/department personnel.


Responsibilities:

Develop material management strategy that meets the needs of Program Sponsors, Maintenance Providers, and ProjectTeam Leadership Track the shipments of material from kitting activities to the receipt and storage facilities in JapanReceive inbound kitted material and perform a receipt inspection and inventory providing feedback on shortages and discrepant material itemsCoordinate the storage and transport of kitted material once arrivedTrack the need dates for each line item and prepare and issue each line item to the appropriate maintenance provider at the appropriate time.Identify, help provide procurement information for, and track long lead time and other critical material items to ensure they support schedule needs for specific jobs during the availabilityDisposition excess material during project close out Provide weekly reporting on material statusCapture, identify, and implement Lessons Learned Other duties and responsibilities as assigned



Qualifications:

Required: 

Active Secret Security Clearance BA/BS in an engineering, logistics, or project management disciplineFive to seven years of related experience (Project Material Management in a Shipyard or RMC environment)Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications Experience with Naval and Military Logistics IT systems Understanding of MILSTRIP/MILSTRAP and Non-standard Procurement procedures Specialized experience in one or more of the following areas:Project Engineering and Planning Manager Project Material Manager Project Planner Material procurement / supply chain management Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with little or no supervisionExcellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint)Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Work is performed in a typical shipyard environment with exposure to noise, dirt, and the environment.Wearing personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift will be required

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$54,500 - $111,400
