**Project Manager- Plant Vogtle 1&2** **JOB SUMMARY:** In one or two sentences, provide a brief overview of the purpose or function of the job. Why does this position exist? “This position is responsible for…” This position reports to the Site Projects Manager. Responsibilities for all associated activities with Engineering, contracting, procurement, installation, start up, closure, and maintaining appropriate project controls throughout the project. The successful candidate will have authority and be held accountable for developing a project scope, budget, and schedule as well as an implementation plan for completing assigned projects while meeting the project goals. **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills **)** **Education/Experience Preferences:** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline strongly preferred. + Project Management certification (PMP), or the ability to obtain within 1 year. + Advanced degrees, Professional Engineer (PE) license, and other degrees/certifications will be considered based upon the candidate’s experience. **Background/Experience Requirements:** + Minimum three (5) years of nuclear plant experience in Engineering, Maintenance or Operations or equivalent military experience + Minimum three (3) years utilizing project management skills **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** + Build and sustain relationships across all levels of the organization including executive management and external stakeholders such as the NRC, INPO, etc. + Has a working knowledge of project control techniques, design, work management, and procurement processes. + Focus on understanding the business and leveraging that knowledge to partner with management to identify and monitor strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks, including emerging trends. + The ability to solve problems and make sound judgments, based on experience and proper risk evaluation tools, to provide timely and appropriate resolutions to issues that might impact personnel safety, plant performance, budget, and project execution. + The ability to communicate issues and drive problem resolution through various levels of management. + Ability to effectively interface, build, and sustain relationships with other departments. + Working knowledge of plant operations, design engineering and maintenance practices. + Thorough knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. + Excellent written and oral communications skills. **Behavioral Attributes:** + Demonstrates Southern Company Values – Safety First, Intentional Inclusion, Superior Performance, and Act with Integrity + Demonstrate ability to make independent prudent decisions and recognize when it is appropriate to elevate the decision + Critical decision-making ability to assess risk at multiple levels and understand the consequences and impacts of actions. + Possess leadership courage to challenge department and station personnel to achieve high performance and excellent standards. + Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and that have an important impact on project activities and plant health initiatives. + Committed to success of employees, customers, and shareholders. + Self-directed with strong initiative. + Results oriented and customer focused.
