HDR's Building Engineering Services Group is hiring a Project Manager for our Mobile, AL office to focus on client development and delivery of data center projects. This position is an opportunity to join one of the largest, fastest growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry. In additional to the primary focus of managing and delivering projects, the successful candidate must possess the drive, experience and charisma needed to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand upon HDR’s reputation within these markets. This individual will work closely with the Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers as well as our global TMT client management team.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and lead multi-disciplinary design teams from project conception to completion to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfactionCollaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, to achieve the established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company.Position requires 10-20% travel to project sites, including internationally if needed.Must be open to a flexible work schedule to accommodate international project supportControl project budget, scope, and scheduleEnsure product deliverables meet quality standardsForecasting, invoicing and contract managementPromote HDR through regular client interfaceCreate vital proposal content including scope, schedule and budgetLead HDR at interview presentations with clientsWork cooperatively with local office leads, other business group leads, technical directors and marketing managers.Other technical / managerial tasks as assignedPreferred QualificationsProven background in successfully delivering various data center and mission critical projects ranging from upfront planning and pre-design activities through detail design, construction support and commissioningKeen focus on organizational skills and follow-through skillsPreference given to local candidatesOwner’s representative experienceWorking knowledge of industry standards and contractsBachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or Program ManagementPreference to candidates with PE or Architecture licensureWorking knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 Docs, BIM360 Field, and Bluebeam#LI-BM1
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field 7 years related experience A minimum of 2 years project management experience Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
