About this RolePower Engineering Services is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex electrical power engineering projects. This role involves managing field engineering teams, coordinating client deliverables, overseeing testing/commissioning schedules, and ensuring adherence to budget and quality standards. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the key liaison between clients, subcontractors, internal engineers, and support staff.
What You'll Do Direct all phases of project lifecycle—from kickoff through commissioning and closeoutCreate detailed project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and safety protocolsLead weekly progress meetings with clients and internal stakeholdersManage vendor and subcontractor performance; ensure contract complianceProvide technical oversight on testing scopes, commissioning activities, and quality reviewsMaintain rigorous cost tracking, change order management, and risk mitigation plansEnsure all work complies with NETA standards, NEC/NESC codes, and safety regulationsDevelop junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related technical field7+ years of experience managing utility or electrical infrastructure projectsStrong background in electrical systems, power distribution, protection & control, or substation testingWorking knowledge of NETA testing procedures and ability to interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams, preferredProficiency with project management tools such as Primavera, MS Project, or similar platformsExperience managing electrical subcontractors and leading field testing teamsAbility to confidently interface with engineers, electricians, clients, and utility stakeholdersAbility to prioritize and manage multiple fast-paced projects with competing deadlinesHands-on field or trade experience (NETA-certified technician or licensed electrician), preferredPMP, PE license, or NETA Level III/IV certification, preferredValid driver’s license and ability to pass background and pre-employment drug screeningWillingness to travel 30-40% to project sites across assigned regions during active phases What You'll GetAs a Quanta Services employee, we offer a wide range of benefits to fit your needs.
