Project Manager-Technical Accounting

About the Role:

Love digging into complex accounting questions and keeping projects on track? Join Penske's Technical Accounting team as a Project Manager, where you'll manage accounting projects, research emerging standards, and use your technical skills to drive process improvements. Working closely with the Director of Controllership – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting, you'll take ownership of initiatives that keep us compliant with U.S. GAAP while continuously improving our processes, and also provide direct support to the financial reporting team. From leading implementation of new accounting standards and coordinating process improvements to managing special projects that require technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration, you'll be responsible for keeping things moving forward. You'll participate in meetings with leadership, present your findings and recommendations, and manage project timelines in close coordination with the Director. Whether it's LEAN implementations, policy updates, internal control enhancements, or quarterly reporting improvements, you'll ensure projects stay on track while maintaining the technical accuracy and compliance standards that support reliable financial reporting across the organization.
