Our eCommerce team is focused on showcasing Staples’ value proposition and delivering an exceptional customer experience online. We blend creative merchandising and advanced technology—including SEO, paid search, display affiliates, and social media—to convert website visitors into loyal customers. As part of our team, you’ll work end-to-end with sales, merchandising, finance, logistics, and technology groups to build a world-class digital experience in a rewarding and innovative work environment.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead the development and implementation of site personalization strategies that enhance the digital shopping experience for our customers across mobile, desktop, and app platforms.Leverage customer insights, analytics, and advanced testing to create dynamic and tailored content, offers, and product recommendations.Utilize AI and machine learning to automate and refine personalization processes.Design and oversee A/B and multivariate tests, using results to guide ongoing optimization.Collaborate closely with marketing, IT, and data teams to ensure personalization aligns with business goals and technology capabilities.Monitor the impact of personalization initiatives, adjusting strategies based on key metrics to drive engagement and conversion rates.Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure efficient execution.Lead project meetings and present findings, progress, and future plans to senior management.Stay up-to-date with industry trends to keep Staples at the forefront of eCommerce innovation.Ensure all personalization activities comply with legal and data privacy regulations.What you bring to the table:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for tackling complex personalization challenges and identifying data-driven trends.Proven experience with analytics and testing tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, and Optimizely.Demonstrated ability to implement and manage personalization technologies and optimize user experiences.Solid understanding of digital marketing strategies, online consumer behavior, eCommerce trends, and compliance/data privacy regulations.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills for managing stakeholder relationships and motivating cross-functional teams across IT, marketing, sales, and finance.Highly organized with a successful track record of leading projects from concept to execution—managing planning, scheduling, budgeting, and multiple concurrent priorities in fast-paced environments.Adaptable and proactive in navigating change while maintaining strong attention to detail under tight deadlines.What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of direct experience managing digital projects focused on site personalization, customer journey mapping, and user experience optimization.What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Marketing, Data Science, Information Technology or a related field.Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or analytics (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional).5+ years of experience in digital marketing or eCommerce with a focus on customer experience and site personalization.Advanced proficiency with testing and personalization platforms such as Adobe Target, Optimizely, or Dynamic Yield.In-depth knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in personalizing user experiences.Experience leading large-scale personalization projects across web, mobile, and app platforms.Strong background in user experience design and conversion rate optimization (CRO).Excellent vendor management and contract negotiation skills.Leadership experience in developing digital marketing professionals and data analysts.#LI-AF1
