Project Manager - Mechanical (Generation)
Airswift is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to support a long-term assignment with a leading nuclear energy provider.
This critical role supports the successful delivery of mechanical discipline-focused projects at a nuclear facility, from initiation through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing mechanical projects within the nuclear industry and demonstrate strong project management, coordination, and communication capabilities.
The selected contractor will work within the nuclear project organization, collaborating closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to drive project execution and ensure compliance with station processes and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities: Manage mechanical projects across all phases: initiation (including funding requests), design, field implementation, and project closeout. Monitor and coordinate project activities using both Online and Outage scheduling processes. Review and interpret Primavera P6 project schedules and align deliverables accordingly. Apply project management best practices to meet performance, schedule, and compliance goals. Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and reporting efforts. Interface with stakeholders across disciplines to resolve technical and operational issues. Track and manage project documentation, decisions, risks, and change requests. Prepare and deliver project updates and presentations to leadership and stakeholders. Support and maintain compliance with all nuclear facility access and security requirements. Requirements: 6+ years of experience managing mechanical engineering projects, preferably in nuclear or heavy industrial sectors. Demonstrated experience leading projects at nuclear facilities with a focus on mechanical systems. Strong knowledge of station processes, outage planning, and project lifecycle management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project). Experienced reviewing and working within Primavera P6 project schedules. Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills across multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management. Must be eligible to obtain unescorted nuclear facility access (includes background check, fingerprinting, and training/testing compliance). Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with nuclear projects or within the energy/utilities sector. PMP certification or formal training in project management methodologies.
