Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager III (Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Environmental Engineer) to be based in our Greenville, SC office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This position is expected to begin immediately.

The selected candidate will also assist/lead project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.

This position will also assist in the performance of regulatory compliance inspections, sampling, and reporting associated with the implementation of permit and/or regulator requirements for commercial/industrial facilities.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complexInterprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal directionProvide engineering and design support for private industrial and state remediation projectsDevelop, coordinate and provide field oversight of pre-design investigationsRemedial implementation including construction support, permitting and design clarificationsOperation of treatment systems (evaluation of performance, maintenance activities and development of O&M plans)Analyze data and prepare/review engineering related reports, plans, calculations, drawings, figures and specificationsDevelopment of remedial implementation cost estimatesSupporting project managers with tasks including budgeting, schedule, scope development and cost trackingConducts research and does investigation work as requiredPlans and organizes project studiesAssists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard proceduresPerforms complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problemsOversees the work of less experienced scientists, and provides mentorship or training as needed

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationProfessional Geologist (P.G.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) Licensure, certifications, and/or accreditationsValid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records ReviewDue to the nature of this work, United States citizenship is a requirementCurrent OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training and Refreshers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field5+ years of experience in environmental consulting with focus in site assessment and/or remediation5+ years of project management experienceProficient technical writing (remedial investigation reports, corrective action studies, etc.)Familiarity with State (i.e., SCDES, NCDEQ, etc.) and Federal Environmental Regulations
