Project Manager - Environmental Services (Richland, VA)

Burns McDonnell is seeking a self-motivated Environmental Project Manager to join its team of talented and successful environmental and engineering professionals in Richland, WA.

The Environmental Project Manager will lead the development of new and existing relationships, sales, and the execution of remediation services serving a portfolio of clients and projects in multiple market sectors. Specifically, the position would support the growth of business with the Department of Energy Sites and Laboratories in the greater Tri-Cities area. In addition, the position would collaborate closely with our Aviation and Federal Global Practice to support environmental tasks and growth in the region. Leadership responsibilities will include project management, technical leadership, and client relationship development and maintenance. The Position will be supported by experienced local and remote professionals for project management, business development, project execution and quality management to maximize successful outcomes.

The successful candidate will possess diverse science, investigation, and/or remediation background, project/program management skills, and be familiar with the federal and state regulatory frameworks (NEPA, CAA, RCRA/CERCLA and state-specific requirements for site investigation, remediation, and site closure). Experience in successful planning and execution of subsurface investigations, including development of site closures is expected. Existing client and regulatory agency relationships is preferred. Local travel is required, and professional registration is required (P.E., P.G., etc.).

Prepare and implement strategic plans to capture existing project leads, identify new opportunities, and develop actionable capture plans to generate new business for Burns McDonnell.

Responsible for preparing scopes of work, cost estimates and proposals for small and large planning/investigation/remediation projects.

Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members and coordinate departmental project studies, reports or designs.

Project implementation, QA/QC, project scheduling and budget management.

Marketing and business development responsibilities will be required along with regular meetings and correspondence with clients, agencies, subcontractors, or outside personnel.

Lead preparation of work plans, investigation reports, feasibility studies, remedial design and implementation for both federal, state, and local lead programs.

Experience or understanding of data management tools and visualization models or technologies.

Manage technical aspects of investigation and remediation projects.

Manage and execute individual projects and supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.

Participate in business planning and business development efforts to support the growth of the environmental practice across the Northwest.
