Project Manager - Environmental and Regulatory Compliance (Atlanta)
**Description** Burns & McDonnell’s Southeast Region is seeking a Project Manager for our Environmental Services Global Practice in our Atlanta, GA office to lead environmental and regulatory compliance projects. The technical areas encompassed by this position include Environmental Management System (EMS) development, implementation and auditing; multi-media environmental compliance audits; environmental site assessments; Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan programs; permit application development; and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater compliance (operational Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) programs, environmental inspections for construction projects, etc.). We are seeking a motivated self-starter to help continue the growth of our Environmental Services Global Practice. The successful candidate will be a seller-doer with demonstrated experience developing and supporting multiple projects as well as managing and completing independent projects. Responsibilities may include proposal development and cost estimating, environmental permitting interpretation and support, providing technical experience for multi-media compliance projects, coordinating consultation with regulatory agencies, managing construction, contracts, schedules and budgets, marketing, client-facing interaction, and mentoring of junior staff. Additionally, the ideal candidate will help expand our Environmental Services Global Practice by bringing a new client base to the region. The Project Manager will work within an integrated team within our Environmental and Regulatory Compliance group in the Environmental Services Global Practice to perform the following duties: + Performing project management responsibilities for multi-media environmental and regulatory compliance projects. + Assisting with and leading proposal and cost estimating efforts for multi-media environmental and regulatory compliance projects. + Client management, business development, and networking. + Regularly interface with various agencies, clients and team members. + Mentoring and generally working closely with junior level environmental staff. + Assist with recruiting, development, and training of staff. + Other duties, as assigned. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in a science-related field from an accredited program. + Minimum 7 years of related professional experience in environmental compliance project execution including leading teams in the field or office, coordinating staff, and/or project management. + Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients. + Must possess strong project execution skills as well as a strategic perspective. + Experience with project management, environmental regulation and agency coordination (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Georgia Environmental Protection Department, other state agencies, etc.) is preferred. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information and work effectively with various audiences (including clients, public officials, agency representatives, property owners, businesses, construction contractors, etc.). + Demonstrates knowledge of environmental site assessment methods, permitting processes, compliance and compliance audits. + Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). + Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy. + Ability to travel up to 25%, as required.
