Job Description – SAP S/4HANA Automation Project Manager  Programme Overview As part of our clients multi-year IMIT transformation, SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud has been implemented as the core ERP platform. The current focus is a strategic automation portfolio to close functional gaps in S/4 Public Cloud and to strengthen compliance across Finance (FIN), Commercial & Procurement (CPMM), and Plant Maintenance (PM). The delivery team comprises of Functional SME, SAP ABAP developers, and internal Power Platform developers. Role Purpose Lead end-to-end delivery of the SAP S/4HANA automation portfolio, ensuring that scoped automations are defined, built, tested, and deployed on time and to quality, with clear ownership of governance, stakeholder alignment, risk/issue management, and realization of compliance and business value. Deep SAP expertise is not required; however, familiarity with SAP (especially FIN, CPMM, PM) is an advantage. Accountabilities and Responsibilities   Own the integrated plan and delivery roadmap for the automations portfolio; manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and dependencies. Establish and run project governance: steering sessions, weekly status, RAID and decision logs, change control, and value tracking. Drive backlog management, sprint/iteration planning, and cross-team coordination (Functional SME, ABAP developers, Power Platform developers). Ensure solution designs are reviewable, traceable to requirements, and aligned with S/4 Public Cloud guardrails and architecture. Facilitate requirement and design workshops with business process owners, compliance leads, and IMIT; maintain alignment on scope and acceptance criteria. Provide clear, tailored communications to technical and non-technical stakeholders; manage expectations and resolve conflicts. Proactively identify risks/issues and implement mitigations; ensure auditability and adherence to control frameworks. Plan and oversee SIT/UAT with traceable test cases, defect triage, and business sign-off; manage hypercare and stabilization. Coordinate integration points between S/4 Public Cloud and custom components; remove impediments and escalate as needed. Ensure handover to support/BAU with complete documentation (functional/technical specs, test evidence, run books). Experience and Capabilities
Must-Have: Proven track record delivering IT application or automation projects as a Project or Program Manager. Strong governance, organization, and communication skills; comfortable leading mixed internal/external teams. Hands-on experience with requirements management, planning, and software delivery lifecycle including testing and cutover. Demonstrated stakeholder management across business and IT; ability to synthesize and present complex topics clearly. Fluent English, written and verbal. Preferred: Exposure to SAP S/4HANA or major ERP programs; familiarity with FIN, CPMM, or PM processes. Experience coordinating SAP ABAP development or low-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform). Background in regulated industries (e.g., Energy/Oil & Gas) with strong compliance and audit requirements. Experience working in multicultural teams and developing organizational environments. Working Pattern Standard 5/2 schedule aligned to the Iraq working week (Sunday to Thursday). Flexibility may be required around key milestones.
