Overview:
We are looking for a business-focused Functional Project Manager with strong experience in data readiness and migration to support an ERP transformation program. The role will focus on data creation, preparation, and validation throughout various project phases as the organization transitions from legacy ERP systems to SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA.
This position sits on the business side, working closely with functional process owners, data stewards, and IT teams to ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and ready for deployment in the new ERP landscape.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate data readiness activities across business functions.
Drive data creation, cleansing, validation, and enrichment to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Partner with business process owners to define and validate data requirements, mappings, and ownership.
Support the migration of data from legacy ERP systems into SAP ERP and S/4HANA, ensuring functional accuracy and business sign-off.
Manage data-related deliverables through different project phases (design, build, test, cutover, and stabilization).
Facilitate data governance practices, including business rules, definitions, and approvals.
Coordinate with IT and technical teams to ensure alignment between business needs and system implementation.
Track progress, identify risks, and report on data readiness status to program leadership.
Required Experience & Skills:Proven experience as a Functional Project Manager or Business Data Lead in ERP transformation programs.
Strong understanding of business processes and master data (e.g., material, vendor, customer, finance).
Demonstrated experience supporting data migration from legacy ERP systems to SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA.
Hands-on involvement in data readiness, validation, and reconciliation activities.
Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills across business and IT teams.
Ability to work independently in a global, remote environment.
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
