Your supervisor will be an architect, and your coworkers are comprised of two architects and two engineers. You will also work in conjunctionwith amanagement team. This position provides design-phase management of projects for the State of Montana. Projects range from minor remodels and deferred maintenance to new building construction. Responsibilities of the position include: · Management of external design professionals on capital projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, budgets, and timelines. · Guide/manage projects from inception, space planning, programming, cost estimating, construction documents, and through bidding and negotiations. · Advocate for long-term energy efficiency, building performance and accessibility. · Collaborate across disciplines, ensuring managers as well as building leaders are included in decisions impacting projects · Engage with city and state agencies, including permitting authorities and the State Historic Preservation Office to ensure effortless project approvals and compliance. (You can learn more about the division here.) *What are we looking for?* *MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES* ** *Education and Experience:* · A degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited program. · A licensed Architect or Engineer or in the process of becoming professionally licensed. · Professional experience (minimum 5 years) in architectural design, planning, and construction management — ideally with public sector or consulting backgrounds. · Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. · Strong working knowledge of IBC, ADAAG, and sustainable building practices. · Proficiency with design and planning software, including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office suite.
