Project Manager

Job Summary: The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring that project members understand what is expected of them and what they should expect from one another. Leads the project planning activities. The project manager directs the creation, approval, and ongoing change control of the project plan. The Project Manager will lead cross functional teams to deliver projects and be accountable for the safe delivery of projects that meet commercial commitments. This would be inclusive of project initiation, planning, execution, monitor and control, and close out of concurrent projects. Finally, the Project Manager will be the key contact for clients to resolve project related requirements and concerns and will engage internal stakeholders as required to deliver projects. The Project Management Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire project management system within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing project management policies and procedures, managing a team of project management professionals, and ensuring that projects meet or exceed company objectives. The Project Management Manager conducts regular audits, reviews project performance data, and collaborates with other departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing project documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and reporting on project performance to senior leadership. Responsibilities: • Ensures safe work practices implemented throughout the project life cycle. • The PM’s responsibility starts at PO acknowledgement to order shipment and ensures order flows through process to meet customer requirements. This includes a quality project on time and within budget. • Facilitate the review and definition of the project scope, schedule and budget and obtain additional documentation as required. This includes the building of a project execution plan that identifies risks and opportunities. • Keep internal and external stakeholders informed of project activities and deliverables, will flag unanticipated risks quickly to ensure appropriate risk mitigation strategies are implemented. This includes building and maintaining a strong relationship with stakeholders. • Coordinate all factory visits as needed; including but not limited to in person testing, and in person or third-party inspections. • Facilitate project kickoff meetings with critical stakeholders ensuring adequate representation from business development, subject matter experts, field delivery personnel to review customer requirements. • Accountable for executing contract terms and implementing change orders as required. • Adhere to Xylem's Project Management Policy, processes, and procedures. • Provide technical support to customers, end-users, and internal departments. • Support the continuous improvement of project management processes and procedures. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with company requirements. • Provide steady leadership support in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines. • Clarify, identify, and track requirement, decisions, and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues, and escalate as appropriate. This would include organizing cross-functional meetings that foster teamwork, drive escalation and resolution of issues. They simultaneously protect the business from scope creep and act as the custom's advocate during internal decision making. Qualifications: • B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Business, or technical required or equivalent combination of experience. • Minimum 4 years of experience in project management, engineering, production planning, operations, supply chain or customer service. • Effective problem solving and presentation skills along with strong written and verbal communication required. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of external and internal customers. Pluses: • Experience with Six Sigma and utilizing data to make key decisions. • Industry knowledge or experience.
