And so much more.​   ​Come break through with us.  Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. **Day to Day Responsibility** - Define, manage, and support continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. - Lead plant involvement in innovation and product development processes to insure effective new products and processes qualification to manufacturing. - Establish a culture that values engineering competency and deployment of the scientific method. - Establish overall project plans (scope, schedule, cost estimates, project acceptance criteria, procurement/contracting strategy, risk management, etc). Assist in project evaluation and justification. Work with the business in the preparation of Appropriation Requests (A/R) - Conduct project meetings and document key issues, action items and decisions. Communicate and provide guidance to project team members (Engineering/ Manufacturing) based on organizational goals and company policy - Provide periodic project updates to customer(s) and management. Communicate project goals, objectives, key status information and overall impact of the project effectively with project team members - Effectively implement all phases of project methodologies to include appropriate initiation, planning, implementation and control, and close-out elements - Actively coach and develop individuals on project team. Project team member assignments established with individual competency development as objective. Provide recognition to project and customer team members - Share expertise and knowledge to foster continuous improvement of the organization (project team or functional unit) - Obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements). **Education & Experience** - B.S. Engineering or equivalent technical degree - Proven track record of project accomplishments as a project lead with increasing scope, complexity, responsibility, impact, risk, etc - Track record of delivering results within cost and schedule with close and timely communications with the internal Customer - Track record of engineering accomplishment. Recognized as a technical leader / subject matter expert in one or more technical disciplines fully capable in related disciplines - Proficient in Project Management skills and methodologies inclusive of Scope Development, Scheduling, Cost & Budget Management, Quality Management, and Risk Management - Demonstrated ability to operate within matrix organization. Utilizes influence versus control. - Sound problem solving and decision-making processes and skills. - Proficient in engineering tools including, Performance Excellence, Project Management tools, etc - Knowledge of MS Project or other Project scheduling tools - Results oriented with a high commitment level - Conflict management -seeks win-win solutions. Calms down and resolves problems versus escalating **Required Skills.
