We are hiring a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major airport runway construction project in Ghana.
You will oversee all phases of the project, from planning and mobilization through execution and handover. The role is fully site-based and requires strong hands-on infrastructure experience.
You will work with international stakeholders, local authorities, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure the runway is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This is a high-impact infrastructure role within a government-supported aviation development program.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full project delivery for airport runway construction and related airside infrastructure
Manage civil works including earthworks, subbase, asphalt/concrete paving, drainage, and utilities
Supervise contractors, consultants, and supplier performance on site
Develop and control detailed project schedules and budgets
Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations and technical standards
Oversee quality control procedures, site inspections, and progress reporting
Manage contracts, variations, claims, risk registers, and change orders
Liaise with airport authorities, regulators, and project stakeholders
Ensure safe site operations and environmental compliance
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Proven experience managing large airport runway or airfield construction projects as Project Manager or Site Coordinator
Strong background in heavy civil infrastructure (highways, runways, large-scale earthworks)
Hands-on experience with paving works, asphalt or concrete, drainage, and subbase layers
Solid understanding of aviation regulations and runway construction standards
Experience leading multinational site teams
Strong contract administration and cost control skills
Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
Willingness to relocate and be based on site in Ghana for the duration of the project
Maximum age: 58 years (local insurance requirement)
