Project Manager, Computational Sciences - Antibody Engineering

Advances in AI, data, and computational sciences are transforming drug discovery and development. Roche’s Research and Early Development organisations at Genentech (gRED) and Pharma (pRED) have demonstrated how these technologies accelerate R&D, leveraging data and novel computational models to drive impact. Seamless data sharing and access to models across gRED and pRED are essential to maximising these opportunities. The new Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (CoE) is a strategic, unified group whose goal is to harness this transformative power of data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist our scientists in both pRED and gRED to deliver more innovative and transformative medicines for patients worldwide.


The Program Manager will support key projects and programs within the Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (CoE) Antibody Engineering Portfolio with the possibility to extend to all Small Molecule Drug Discovery (SMDD) and Large Molecule Drug Discovery (LMDD) portfolios. This role will encompass a comprehensive range of project and program management responsibilities related to the successful execution of AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD) efforts in Antibody Engineering (AE).

The Opportunity:

Single point of contact for coordination of efforts and collaborations between AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD) and AE groups

Focus on defining/characterizing the AE portfolio and current status of projects relative to their need for computational/AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD) support

Identify key blockers within the AE portfolio and help map to AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD) capabilities

Build dashboards to help AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD) identify, prioritize, and action on key AE blockers

Develop and manage the intake process for new projects in the AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD) AE portfolio

Support project summary/reporting of all project information in the AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD) AE portfolio

Key point of contact for AE teams and accountable for building this and other key relationships with AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD)

Who You Are:

BS degree required in engineering, biology or related field

Experience in Machine Learning and/or AI is a plus. Business or project management coursework or additional supportive training desired (e.g. PMP, Six Sigma, Lean, Design Thinking, Agile methodology, etc.).

5 years of experience in a related field.

Cross-functional experience in antibody engineering is a plus.

Cross-functional experience in the drug discovery process is a must.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills.

Strong project management skills, very organized and adapts quickly to rapidly changing business demands.

Self-starter, ability to work with minimum or no supervision and takes initiative to solve a wide range of difficult problems in creative ways.

Adept at fostering positive, transparent and productive relationships and has proven ability to challenge and propose solutions for current business processes.

Proficient with skills in one or more of the following core program management areas:

Strategic planning

Project & Program management

Risk management

Communication planning and team management

Cross-functional collaboration

Change management
