**The** **Role:** Project and Operational Process Specialist, Energy Transition
**The Team:** S&P Global Energy enables organizations to create long-term, sustainable value with data and insights for a complete view on the global energy and commodities markets. The Energy Horizons team provides innovative infrastructure solutions and services to grow environmental markets. This includes facilitating the implementation of new environmental markets, helping existing markets evolve and mature, enabling connectivity between markets and fostering data transparency and efficiency.
**The Impact:** This role will help the Energy Horizons team streamline and automate critical processes, roll out and manage AI onboarding and continuous learning by the team, run strategic projects and software implementations, as well as achieve operational excellence across a number of different areas. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Energy Transition Process Excellence.
**What’s in it for you:** This role will require working closely with other functional teams, including Product, Research, Technology, Commercial, Operations, Legal, etc., as well as vendor representatives and clients, depending on need. The candidate will deliver based on defined timelines, have AI acumen and be curious to continue learning and pass those learnings onto others in the organization, have analytical skills to make decisions based on data, technical acumen and experience with agile project management, and possess strong communication skills in order to collaborate across internal functional teams and engage with vendors and customers based on need.
**Responsibilities:** As an Energy Transition Project and Operational Process Specialist, you will:
+ Facilitate quarterly project prioritization across the Energy Horizons division.
+ Act as the project manager for certain strategic initiatives, including technical product implementations.
+ Define and implement a division-wide AI learning plan across multiple functional areas.
+ Own certain operational processes and manage all aspects of their development from discovery to implementation, to ongoing maintenance.
+ Help Product and Project teams stay on track by following up on tasks, hand-holding escalations that will clear bottlenecks, and managing communication streams.
+ Deliver detailed status and project performance updates. Send effective communications to the wider stakeholder groups, and create presentation materials to communicate project progress.
+ Perform project prioritization and milestone planning.
+ Create, organize and maintain project and product collateral.
+ Manage ongoing updates in the project management / PDLC applications used by the team (such as Aha!, Azure DevOps, Sharepoint, as needed).
**What We’re Looking For:**
+ 5+ years’ professional work experience in a project, product or process improvement role
+ Exposure to carbon, commodity / sustainability markets preferred; familiarity with ESG data and ESG reporting frameworks.
+ The candidate should have keen attention to detail and be highly organized.
+ The candidate should have natural curiosity to learn latest technologies (including AI), solve problems, and own process improvement from problem statement all the way through to implementing a solution.
+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Strong project management skills with accountability for meeting defined deadlines; ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
+ The candidate should naturally think from the perspective of the client at all times, and be interested in designing processes and solutions that fit the right audience.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead meetings with multiple, at times large numbers of participants.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office; particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
+ The candidate should be energetic, self-motivated, naturally curious, and a pro-active team player
+ Knowledge of Smartsheet and / or Microsoft Project a plus.
+ Ideal candidate will have good understanding of the product development lifecycle (PDLC)
+ Analytical background to validate financial / project timeline calculations. Ability to analyze medium/complex data sets in order to provide recommendations and solutions to both requirements as well as timing projections.
+ Being a good listener, and being able to shift directions quickly based on management decisions.
