Project Leader (Penske Logistics)

**Position Summary:**
To support warehouse operations leadership by serving as the primary liaison for all projects, coordinating cross-functional partners, overseeing assigned direct reports, and leading efforts related to data tracking, SOP standardization, and training practices to ensure stable, consistent, and efficient day-to-day warehouse operations.
**Major Responsibilities:**
• Develop and maintain tools, templates, and resources to support multiple operational projects, including Smartsheet templates, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, project charters, Excel, and A3 documentation.
• Lead the organization and engagement of project stakeholders and support teams, initiating project kick-offs and developing realistic project plans with defined milestones, owners, and dependencies aligned to DCM/DCC operations.
• Implement and sustain operational controls and standards, including SOP updates, visual standards, checklists, layered process audits, daily management boards, and other continuous improvement mechanisms to ensure consistent execution within warehouse operations.
• Continuous interaction and collaboration with the customer, operations, and all department support staff to ensure that all project milestones are successfully completed on time and under budget. Including Successful transition from the project to the field operations team. This includes initiating and facilitating the after-action review.
• Lead training and provide ongoing support to operations teams in implementing Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen practices for process optimization. Including leading Gemba walks observe work, engage operators, capture issues, and log improvement actions with owners/dates. Perform process audits: 5S audits, standardized work adherence, visual management checks; close nonconformities with corrective actions.

**Qualifications:**
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, with Project lead and process improvement focus preferred
• PMP, or other professional certifications linked to the management of a project or continuous improvement (Green Belt/Black Belt) preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in Logistics/Project Management/Lean methodology preferred
• 1 -3 years of leadership experience in a logistics operation position, not transportation, preferred
• Introductory or intermediate project management experience preferred
• Strong technical computer skills preferred
• Familiarity with procurement preferred
• Business financial experience preferred
• Oral and written communication, collaboration, teamwork/team building, and organization skills preferred
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, criminal history, and drug screening) required.
