JOB DESCRIPTION - PROJECT LEAD (MEP)

Position Summary

As a Project Lead - MEP at JLL, you will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) aspects of office fit-out projects. This role requires strong technical expertise combined with project management skills to ensure successful delivery of MEPF services within scope, budget, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

Lead MEPF design and installation activities for commercial office fit-out projectsReview and validate MEP designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standardsCoordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless integration of MEP systemsConduct regular site inspections to monitor installation quality and progressPrepare technical documentation, including specifications, RFIs, and change ordersDevelop and manage project schedules for MEP worksPerform cost analysis and budget management for MEP componentsEnsure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standardsParticipate in client meetings to discuss technical requirements and provide expert adviceManage commissioning and testing of MEP systemsPrepare technical reports and documentation for project handover

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering8+ years of experience in MEP engineering with specific focus on commercial office fit-outsStrong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire protection in commercial environmentsKnowledge of building automation systems and energy-efficient design practicesFamiliarity with relevant building codes and standardsProven track record of successful MEP project deliveryExperience with MEP coordination tools and BIM software

Required Skills

Technical expertise in MEP systems and office fit-out requirementsProject management skills including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocationStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsExperience with commissioning and troubleshooting MEP systemsKnowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient design

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineering license or certificationProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationExperience with sustainable building practices and certification processes (LEED, WELL, etc.)Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processesExperience with construction management software

Working Conditions

May require travel to various project locationsOccasionally required to work outside normal business hours to accommodate project schedules
